Foodbank donation statement

March 25, 2022

We made a grant to the foodbank run by the local Batley and Spen charity Purpose of Life, as well as to multiple others in the area, as part of a Covid grant to be spent on alleviating food poverty.

This was given on the 16th March 2021, prior to the Batley Grammar School teacher’s suspension taking place, and had no connection to that incident whatsoever – any insinuation that it was made afterwards is completely false. We were dismayed to learn that one of the charity’s founders later named the teacher at the centre of the controversy and have since had no further involvement with the organisation.
